What Electrolysis by Leora sends by text message and email, who receives it, and how to stop.
Electrolysis by Leora is a licensed electrolysis and laser hair removal practice in Pikesville, Maryland. These terms cover the messages the practice sends its own clients. They are not terms for treatment, which are agreed with the practice directly.
What is sent
Messages are about a client’s own care and are sent one at a time, not as a broadcast:
- a secure link to the intake and medical history form to complete before a first appointment;
- reminders and confirmations of appointments already booked;
- a link to an itemised receipt a client has asked for, to submit to their own insurer;
- replies from clinic staff to something a client has asked.
Offers and news are a separate thing and are sent only to clients who have specifically agreed to receive them. Agreeing to be reminded about an appointment is not agreement to hear about offers, and the practice records the two separately.
Who receives them
Only people who are already clients of the practice and who have given the practice their own mobile number or email address — in person, by telephone, or when booking. The practice does not buy, rent, or otherwise obtain contact details from anyone else, and does not message anyone who has not booked an appointment with it.
Stopping them
Reply STOP to any text message. That stops every kind of text, including reminders, and it takes effect immediately. Reply START to begin receiving them again, or HELP for help. You can also simply call the practice on 410-514-5000 and ask.
Emails can be stopped the same way by replying and asking, and promotional emails carry their own instructions.
Stopping messages does not cancel anything. An appointment already booked stays booked, and the practice will still be able to reach you by telephone about it.
Cost
The practice does not charge for messages. Message frequency varies with how often you attend. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your information
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. What the practice holds and what it does with it is set out in the privacy policy.
